Live concert review: Flamenco Electro

Mike Rizk, recntly returned to the stage in an enigmatic display of Flamenco based instrumental tones with Flamenco-Electro. The show was a stunning musical performance with some highly skilled dancers making for the perfect evenings of entertainment. From potent fast paced dramatic numbers to slower more emotionally in tune songs there was something for everyone during the show.

The evening kicked off in a seemingly simple fashion, a lone guitarist accompanying a flamenco dancer who gracefully navigated through the audience. She amazed the audience with her intricate and perfect timed  footwork. As she transitioned onto the stage, she draped her beautifully embroidered shawl over her shoulders and began her dance. Accompanied by some blissful yet highly energetic guitar riffs and instrumental beats thanks to Peter Micos, who skilfully alternated between the guitar and percussion. Michael Howett, responsible for the electronica elements and London based artists Anna Diamond, a talented singer, Alexea Norman, a contemporary dancer and Angela Alonso, who had also opened the show. The variating talent on display here was highly impressive from to start to finish.

The show was enriched by Michael's electronic touches that complemented rather than overshadowed the flamenco guitar. As the evening progressed into a combustion of smooth yet high octane Flamenco-House.

In conclusion, the evening was an exhilarating dimply of live performances. The Flamenco-House genre being something that is a growing genre across various places, with the evenings show being a wonderful yet exhilarating display of this niche of growing international music.
