Butterbrain’s Electrifying New Single "Halfway to Jupiter"

If you're on the hunt for a track that embodies the raw energy and rebellious spirit of New York City, Butterbrain's latest single "Halfway To Jupiter" is your go to anthem. This ska fueled, horn driven, vocal powerhouse emerges from the ever dynamic NYC music scene, bringing with it a blend of hard-hitting tones and audacious lyrics.

Butterbrain, a band from NYC, has always been known for their daring fusion of rock, punk,  funk, and ska influences.

Their unique sound is as diverse as the city they call home, and "Halfway To Jupiter" is no exception. This melodic and unique style is precisely what fans have come to expect from Butterbrain: bold, unfiltered, and unapologetically authentic. In a recent interview, the band shared insights into their creative process and their views on the current state of the New York music scene.

Frontman Aaron Collins candidly explained the origins of the band's name, which blends humor with a nod to personal experiences. It's this kind of candidness and relatability that sets Butterbrain apart, allowing them to connect deeply with their audience. The band also discussed their upcoming full length album release,  "Armageddon Party," produced by Angelo Moore of Fishbone fame. Recorded in a whirlwind five day session, the album promises a roller coaster of emotions and styles, from thought-provoking themes to experimental sounds. If the first three singles are any indication, listeners are in for a thrilling ride.

While Butterbrain may not position themselves as politically driven, their participation in events like Rock Against Racism 2024 reflects a commitment to equality and social consciousness. Their music resonates with the apocalyptic feeling many sense in today's world but of course with a twist. As Aaron aptly put it, if the world's going down the tubes, Butterbrain intends to go out with a bang. The album’s theme is a mix of punk, ska, and funk rock, reminiscent of the vibe of  Prince's iconic "1999." The band’s dynamic evolution over the years is evident not just in their sound but in their lineup, which includes longtime friends from Queens and recent additions like Sally May from the band Inspecter 7.

Sally’s addition has further enriched Butterbrain's sonic tapestry, enhancing their shift towards a more fast paced, heavy sound. As Butterbrain gears up for the release of their new album this spring, they invite fans old and new to join them on this exhilarating journey. Whether you’re vibing at a live show or blasting their tracks at home, one thing is certain you’ll be glad you tuned in. They promise it’ll be a party worth remembering.
